It was revealed recently that up to one in ten of us have paid for work that is undeclared. As part of the EU4FairWork campaign, Synima were tasked with producing an animation to showcase the pitfalls of undeclared work for both employees and employers alike.

We are really proud to be able to share our latest animation for the European Commission, produced to support the EU4FairWork campaign.

The issue of undeclared work has come to the forefront during the World Pandemic as sadly as many as one third of us know someone who works undeclared and has therefore been left unprotected. In doing so they lose their opportunity for holiday pay, pension and most crucially, sick pay.

Designed and created by our very own James Growdon and the incredibly talented Nina Radivoeva, the video highlights the importance of declaring all work, showcasing the wide-ranging benefits to be achieved in doing so.

We worked on a new style of illustration for the project which was developed to allow the campaign to have its own unique identity. We are thrilled with the end result, as were the clients, with the work featuring extensively as part of the EU4FairWork social media campaign.

This is the latest in a series of projects that we have been fortunate to partner with the European Commission on. Over the years, we’ve produced videos to promote the Access City Award, EU Movers and European Vocational Skills Week, the latter for whom our videos generated in excess of 3.8 million views.
